3 days to go.

I've just downloaded the E.P because I couldn't wait for it to come in the post. It's quite nice, but I thought there'd be more songs on it and I'm suprised that "368" - a song that was so brilliantly performed when I went to seem him earlier this year - wasn't on it, I guess he's saving those ones for the album, which is meant to be out in September.

In the meantime, he seems to be on a rise, making the homepage of The Guardian with this delightful article.

Jamie T Talks Punk and Hip-hop

I can't wait to see him, it's wonderful when you know someone from nothing. The iTunes Festival can only mean good things for him.
I disagree with this though:
"Revelations that he comes from a middle-class family in suburban Wimbledon, and for a period went to the same Surrey public school as Tim Henman, might have invited scrutiny of his authenticity."
Hardly.

I will get cracking with some work to put up here at some point, it's been very hot and I've been a bit pre-occupied.
I got going to the gym, but turns out I have to do some safety regulations rather than just being able to go along with my sister, and I'm not paying £120 for 3 months when I'm not even here for that long. I'm going to start trampolining, by Lord the gym was painful though. I am joining one properly in the next uni year, and going to a pay as you go one when I next get to Dorking. I will be fit as a fiddle.

I kind of want to start looking for jobs within the Photography field, I feel a bit useless at the moment. Even shadowing a wedding photographer for no money would be good right now.

CORRECTION: New album out in August, Kings & Queens ♥

Damn you, Chinese gene!

I wish to have curly hair always but I cannot. It's probably the only thing left that annoys me about being half Chinese. I don't care how shallow this is.
I now have dream hair ♥

I am also looking forward to Jamie T more than ever, did I mention I won free iTunes Fest tickets in the end? Harrrh, I did, and so did my sister, so we have four, we are taking Moon and his brother and it will be a blast, the support is rubbish but will be worth it to dance to Sticks and Stones and others.. and be on TV. Can't believe we both won, it's so awesome. I've known for days, but I forgot I had no internets when I found out.
So now you're in the know.
He has a nice new track - EP out Monday yo.

JM.

My mum mourns Michael Jackson, at least she's upset about it, this makes me feel a little bit sad about the whole thing.
Imagine an artist being around the whole time you've been able to experience music properly, and then suddenly they're gone after all the amazing things they've accomplished.
I'm just happy to appreciate him enough to not be crap about it...
I hope we don't feel like this about Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers in 50 years time...

Also, the programme Channel 4 threw together full of his video was tosh, they could have done a better job by at least showing Thriller properly, and he did way more than 5 good videos. I may even write a complaint. I wasn't even feeling that much allegiance to him before but Channel 4 has made me angry.

I am getting my hair cut tomorrow.

GOAWAY.

Why not go away? You are uninteresting and unimportant and so very annoying.
It makes me sad that too much of an issue would be made if I just deleted you - it's not worth the bother, it's only Facebook. But denying a friend request and then deleting someone is very different, particularly if you actually see the person around.
You then have to deal with the awkward situation of them shouting, "WHY DON'T YOU LIKE ME?!" or eviling you for no reason, or worse telling YOUR friends how much they don't like you just because you don't like them. Why do people always see reason to get along and pretend to be friends, it's just not necessary if you don't have anything in common with them. Mind you. it's particularly not worth it if the other party is an annoying twat either.

On another note, this Michael Jackson thing has me kind of freaked out. Who's to say it's not a hoax, it would be awesome if it was. It's not disrespectful to hope, it's just another way of not really wanting him to be dead, he is after all somebody's father and quite an important figure if you disregard how he was brought to disrepute - not that I think that's true anyway.
It's definitely one of those "remember where you were when it happened" things though. I was just finishing up tidying the kitchen.

I am now fully moved out of my student accommodation for this year, it's times when I'm not at uni when I realise how much I dislike Portsmouth. At least, it's much better with students.
It took so, so long to tidy up that damn house, I hope not to move out of this next one and just to stay on for another year. All my stuff is now divided into two sections "using" and "not using", I want to use it all. I'm glad to be a Photography student, it makes me never forget that evidence taking is one of the fundamental uses of photography. I didn't forget to take photographs of the house as I left. Particularly Noorany's room, which is now even more of a shambles as Moon and I just dumped all his stuff in bin sacks and left it there. He still has a key, there is still quite a high possibility that he will return, he will be mad. I don't care though, he should have been around to at least tidy his own rubbish up.

Happy Three Years for yesterday..

So, seeing as we celebrated in Brighton, we did nothing yesterday apart from move things into the new house, which I need to ring the new landlord about as Gabriella gave me way, way too much stuff and it looks like we're taking the piss, even though it's all only been put in the one room of someone who isn't even living there anymore. Should probably be ringing him now..

Anyway, here are my edited images from Brighton, it took me forever to choose, and I still have over 20 here, I don't think some are as good as others, but I'm quite proud of how my editing progressed over the course of it. It's probably quite obvious which ones I started out with.
My whole photo album for Brighton can be found here
There's too many for me to put them into a specific order, but I will try..

These were made from chocolate:

I got to eat crab ♥

As it's obvious, we went to the Sealife Centre, and it's probably quite easy to assume that my boyfriend and I love animals and looking at animals.. it's just a coincidence that we went to Marwell Zoo and an aquarium in the same week. Haha, Marwell Zoo was much better anyway. The aquarium was £2 cheaper but, we spent just over half an hour in it.. I think for the extra £2, it was nice to get a full day out of Marwell Zoo. I'm putting it in writing, Brighton Sealife Centre is dire, I discourage anyone from going there, it's teeny tiny and rapes you of your money, they don't even have massive octopi or sharks.

As I said before, it was a lovely weekend, I only wish we'd stayed there longer. I'm definitely glad that we stayed in a nice hotel as well, rather than opting for a cheapy cheap place, although budget, it still had a bit of something.

I want to live in Brighton, even though I'd be eternally poor, I'd be much happier, or be joining the hundreds of homeless people that seem to live there. Whatever the case, ha, I prefer it to Portsmouth, it was nice to get away.

On a completely different note, fans of The Maccabees should take a look at The Down The Front Sessions Myspace as it has a few nice "acoustic" - although that just means different if I'm honest - versions of tracks..

Also, I watched Human Traffic last night, it is literally an hour and half of nothing, where the hell is the arc? Or is that the point, not that it matters if it is, because it's a shit idea. Just seen that it was made in 1999, how untranslatable is that? No one is like that, ever. It's a shit, shit film. I condemn whoever recommended to me, because I don't even remember.

P.S. I recognise all the cliché images of Brighton - such as the West Pier, but it's got to be done, amirite?

I love Paolo Nutini.

Until I get three hours to myself..

..here are some treats.

I've scanned in the two brooches I bought in Brighton at the weekend.

The cat one is from a vintage market stall ♥ and the deer is from Ju-ju.
I only scanned them to see what it would look like, and because I couldn't be bothered to create a further backlog of photographs. I think it looks pretty neat, I've seen this kind of thing done before, might give it a proper try at some point.

Here are some found images from Snoopers Paradise.
September 1971: Michael, Cheryl, David and Christopher.

I just picked them up because I quite like them, it's a pity that my scanner hasn't picked up the detail of the slides because they look pretty good in real life.
I wish I'd stayed longer in Brighton, being chucked out of the hotel at 11 o'clock was quite annoying.

fortyfive.

It appears that this is my forty-fifth blog, it feels like there should be a lot more, oh well.

I have been watching quite a few films these past couple of days, mainly due to not wanting to spend any more money for going away.

I went to the cinema to watch Looking for Eric which was quite a nice story with a good balance of fantasy and reality. I just wish I really cared who Eric Cantona was/is. He seems like quite a fascinating character, probably would be more so if I liked football, this will never happen so I suppose I will never be able to appreciate him.
It's quite cutesy in that British sort of way if you get what I mean. But, if you're after an easy watch then it's fine, it probably wasn't particularly suited to the big screen but at least I've seen it and at least it wasn't complete rubbish.

I also watched Bedtime Stories, with Adam Sandler - who I don't normally enjoy but for a kids film it was quite funny and I suppose had a touch of magic, in that way that most Disney films do. And it has Russell Brand in it ♥, although he's a twat, I like him as an actor and I don't care who knows it.

I've also re-watched Rules of Attraction - which I find "oh so slightly" annoying since I've nearly finished the book but I guess it's like with Harry Potter and needing to look at it as an adaptation in the same way - I almost forget. It's just a pity that the books always seem to be so much better than the films. At least there's not as much hype around some as much as others. Like Twilight - purely because of the hype, it makes me feel a bit ill, I have no desire to play any part in any of that.

Just finished re-watching Oldboy tonight - although long, it's so much better the second time round than I thought it would be. It's pretty awesome.

Anyway, I'm finally off my weekend away to Brighton tomorrow.
I feel a little bit stupid because it's not a million miles away but I bet it will still be wicked and I love staying in hotels.
I will update with good images when I return. Bye. x

Walk with the animals..

Marwell Zoo yo!

Just thought I'd upload these before I was overwhelmed with photographs from Brighton.

Marwell Zoo was actually quite good, despite its incredibly terrible accessibility.
Had to get a taxi from Eastleigh train station (which cost £10.50 on top of the £5.80 I'd already spent on the train) - then another £1.70 to get a bus back - which, despite there being a bus stop right outside the park, was another mile away anyway, would have missed the last bus were it not for a kind lady who happened to be going that way - don't ask.
Apparently the buses that DO go to Marwell Zoo only go and come back at 2 and half past 3.. So if your only access to the zoo was a bus, you're fucked.
I probably won't be going there again but it was quite a nice day out, it was a bit of a pity that all my favourite animals were sleeping but there were still some interesting ones, and it was a lovely day for it, in terms of weather. And I did get to see a tapir poop and stink out the entire house.. was quite horrific. And a huge sleeping tiger really close.

Anyway, here are my edited and selected images for this - Moon and I took some 300 odd photographs between us today, so count yourself lucky. Although this will kill the scrolling. Enjoy x
